Our trip to Trentino was also in late spring, when the snows had almost melted. You will notice that we chose Springtime to go to the mountains. Although Klaus has done some skying in his youth, yours truly being a true daughter of the Sun and Sea, is not very fond of wandering into unknown cold realms with icy roads and precipitous mountain sides..

Riva

We first drove up to Lake Garda
and its main town Riva
.Garda is one of the most beautiful lakes in Italy.

Then through spectacular scenery,

Dolomites

Madonna de Campiglio

we came to Madonna di Campiglio,
one of the Jet-Set ski resorts in Winter,
but beautiful and quieter in late Spring.

We stayed two days in Madonna di Campiglio exploring the suroundings as much as our feet would let us. The return trip was not so pleasant. A sudden mountain thick mist followed us all the way down through which we crawled inch by inch. When we finally reached Ravenna in the evening I went straight to the first church I found open, and lit a candle for thanksgiving. It took me a long time to go up any mountain after that...

The pictures of Riva and the Dolomites were sent to me by my dear friend Elfie. The others (except the family one of course) came from the site APT Trentino
